About

THE GRADUATE STUDENT MOBILIZATION GROUP

This group has come together to organize against the tuition hikes.  Ultimately we believe in free education for all. We believe that education should be publicly funded and accessible to everyone.  Our immediate goal is to stop the tuition hikes scheduled to go into effect in September 2012, using tactics up to and including a general unlimited student strike.
We understand this as our central issue, linked directly to corporate privatization of post-secondary schooling, students’ rights to protest on campus, security and police interventions on campus, and more.
We see the importance of mobilizing from our particular position in the university community as graduate students. We work autonomously and set our own direction as a group. When appropriate we work in partnership with other student groups and organizations and are open to collaboration.
