7:45 a.m.-end of day Picket Groups Go to the SSMU lobby to join a picket group.
8:00 a.m.- 10:00p.m. Marathon 1625 Sign up to run, bike, roller skate, skip or hop in the marathon here, and join the FB event. Visit Concordia and UQAM, check out their strike activities, carry a flag through Montreal to show we oppose tuition hikes, and have an awesome time. Go to the table set up outside Thomson House to check in.
9:00 a.m. Breakfast by Art History and Communication Studies in Community Square (in front of the James Admin building). Come get some coffee and breakfast.
11:00 a.m. Teach-in: History of the Quebec Student Movement. In the Thomson House Basement.
11:30 a.m.- 10:00 p.m. Strike Room is open. Make signs, banners, other creative strike materials and watch documentaries on the student movement in Quebec and all over the world. Corner Lounge of Thomson House.
1:00 p.m. Lunch and Speakout. (check back for location). Come talk about how the tuition hikes will affect you, or anything you have to say about the strike, education etc. Also get yummy food.
2:30 p.m. Teach-in: Corporitazation of Education. Thomson House Basement.
3:30 p.m. Teach-in: Women and the Tuition Hikes. SSMU Clubs Lounge.
4:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. French Class: Chants & Songs, followed by Jam session. In Community Square. Come learn chants for Thursday so you can yell along with the rest of the province. Bring your instrument as well, and let’s spend an awesome afternoon in the sun singing and hanging out in our square. This is also a good time to keep on knitting! (Don’t worry, we can teach you)
8:00 p.m. STRIKE PARTY Thomson House is hosting a Strike Party, in the Thomson House Ballroom. Everyone’s welcome (you don’t have to be a graduate student). $0.75 off your beer because you need to save money if the 75% tuition increase happens (luckily for you, and us, together we’ll make sure it doesn’t!)
